taxman, i did listen to you in the past about not shorting SUNW----thanks!!(almost forgot--actually i did short it one day (intraday) for a gain but stayed away from overnight positions).
Today i decided to go against your advice and took a chance on the rally and shorted SUNW at 71. Puts are a bit too risky on this stock but i am hoping to cover my short at about 70.
I plan to close out the position today no matter what--not going to hold it overnight.
On the other hand, i had great success at shorting Amazon and AOL today---did it several times---have now closed all my internet short positions. I guess i can afford to take a bit of a hit on the SUNW short.

Actually, i started to buy back some of my core MSFT holding simply due to the rally in Intel. I am hoping to pick up MSFT at lower prices but the exact bottom is going to be hard to find.

Considering the weakening of the US, maybe foreign (especially Japanese) investors are jumping into US equities--helping support this market.
