Dear Walter, I must confess I never even asked my husband about Ulysses and parity bits. Butt I don't think he would know. And I don't think he would bother to find out.

He's having way too much fun writing code lately. I don't know if he writes in C or C++. Butt whatever he is up to, it intensely interests him. From what he says, you'd think writing code was as much fun as eating rich, chocolate ice cream!!!

Each to his own interests!!!

How is the weather in Ontario? Is your family with you? Do you drink many martinis? The only time I ordered a gin and tonic this summer was when I had an upset stomach. It always settles it!

Best wishes,

Mephisto

OT, Walter do you refer to Homer, Joyce or Tennyson's Ulysses. I assume you refer to Homer. Butt Joyce also wrote a lot of weird stuff in his Ulysses. I haven't read the Tennyson's version so I don't know if he used Hexameter verses.

Butt, my husband woke from his snooze. (His Baroque and Renaissance organ music on his new CD put him to sleep.) Butt he needed that nap! Anyway, he told me Tennyson used Iambic Pentameter, the same as Shakespeare, but Homer used Hexameter.

Why do you ask IF there is a connection between Hexameter verses of Ulysses and parity bits?

He doesn't know the answer. His first response was, "I bet he confuses....but forget it....."

We wait for your explanation!

:D

Cheers & Best Wishes,

Mephisto
