Interesting, although I would disagree about Pixar being a bad investment. I made my first investment in Pixar (with my little brother) at 23 in Fall 1997. It has beaten the index in that time frame.

Like any other popular stock, Pixar's IPO was fueled by too much speculation and not enough financial analysis. Before the 50% deal with Disney, I'm not sure how exactly Pixar's numbers would have worked out. Then again, at the time they were making CD-ROMs, etc, but that's not the best business to be in.

Like you, I based my cash flow models on Pixar making $150M movies. However, I am now concerned about the cash flow in 2001. TSII will have run low by then, and the new movie won't be contributing until 2002.

Thanks for the accolades...you did a great job of posting too....I will have to start following over there again. I was lurking for a while over there but it went OT and personal, so I quit visiting. Maybe all we needed was some real news to talk about....Almost bought another lot today, but wasn't able to get on line at the proper time. Tomorrow is another day, and it seems the whole market is drifting lower on light volume, so I think I can get some good deals before everyone comes back from vacation and the bulls get back to business. This stock does get played around with by day traders sometimes, but I don't worry about the long haul, these movies have legs!

Lurking and longing.......
