OT I have never heard that they interferred with the "Murmansk convoys" where the U.S. supplied the Soviet Union with war supplies to fight the Nazis. While the Finns indeed saw alliance with the Nazis as politically and militarily necessary to keep Stalin's white-clad snow troops at bay, some historians have lamented the political cover that Finland provided to Hitler's expansion. While the Finns did not disrupt to any significant degree the lend lease fleets delivering supplies and materiel[sic] to the Soviets (you are correct, through Murmansk), it is not clear whether due to an absence of an effective Arctic navy or underlying sympathy for the Allies cause and as a counterweight to the Finn's newfound (and reluctant) alliance?
