All: Wouldn't it be nice to have this thread renamed? "Qualcomm - Coming into Buy Range" isn't great (IMHO). I asked SI to rename the UNPH thread when Uniphase merged with JDS Fitel to become JDSU/JDU. Twas no problem. Info below taken from the link below. FWIW.

Maurice..The important point to understand is that it isn't just the Chinese Communist Party
bosses you are dealing with here, it's the population of China too.

The Chinese population does not have CDMA therefore they could not have known the Chinese Embassy had been bombed (g?), but it is very easy to drum up a mob when necessary for propaganda purposes. It is done in Washington all the time. The First Obstructor keeps closets full of these people for use when he needs them. They are dressed as Policemen, teachers, children, Seniors and various other guises he can call at will when he feels a proclamation is necessary, such as 100,000 teachers, 100,000 Policemen,saving Medicare/Social security(Seniors) etc. You get the picture.

Regards, K
PS;
I have Vented. Enough. Back to "Q".

Not quite OT at all, and then, some other OT:

Lest it be forgotten, with all deference to those who sincerely believe that subjects Chinese and peripherally beyond are OT and to be banished, the following points:
1. US Commerce deputy Daley believes that political go-ahead (and necessary cover for Unicom) is linked to WTO membership, the seamless course to which has been thrown off course by Slick (remember Zhu's visit) and Slick's bombs; and
2. Beyond our very narrow preoccupations with the Q (as momentous as they are to each of us, according to our needs), CDMA, Q, MOT the rest of them are tiny, but hightly interesting pawns in a geo-political game (but dead serious) of massive implications, and I would say that the US has not played its pieces too cleverly (or too cleverly by half) to encourage and strengthen the irrefutable stirrings of an opening of historic proportions in the CP/national curtain lowered in 1949, and for centuries priot to that.

Regards. Steven

Also, let it not be said that this thread is not doing its best to compensate the economic collossus, the all powerful New Zealand, for its losses in the lamb export wars. Bought half a case of Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc, produced and bottled by Montana Wines Ltd. Marlborough, NZ. Quite delicious.
