Same thing happened to me last week. Couldn't get into my acct on line so called. I was told my acct was restricted due to an error on their part. It would take paperwork to fix. I did the next best thing. Wrote a check on my acct and opened one somewhere else. A lot easier than dealing with their paperwork. The site sucks anyway so hardly used it.

I logged onto this thread to get some info on where cmgi might pick up some real support but happy to pan Fidelity while I'm here.

OT Freezing Acounts

Mark, it's not fidelity but any bank or brokerage. Talk is cheap, and they will all tell you how they will protect your privacy and inform you immediately if anything happens. Sometimes, internal systems work to notify the customer. Most of the time, they do whatever they have to do to cover their own ass. Bottom line, they love you until they think it might cost them a dime, then they don't know you.

Had a situation where Citibank gave out a customer account history. When asked why, the response was "if we didn't, they were going to subpeona us." How's that for being tough.

Mark, I remember when Fidelity screwed you last year. Glad you got through that!

Best luck...
