Why no release from Dell on the PIII 600 and Celeron 500. They are on the Web site.

Value America had an AST 500 Celeron in todays wWSJ FOR $599 after $400 Prodigy rebate including Canon printer, 17" monitor and color scanner.

PIII 600 package was $1299 after rebate (monitor and CPU unit). Guess AST manufactures in Korea or somewhere. Wow!

Dont know what was in the Lebanon Plant (will find out)

As of the Nashville site, nothing much has happened except billboard type like "Future site for DELL"
The local ABC affiliate reports that the Nashville plant will be operational in April/May 2000.

The subcontractors and suppliers however are beginning to swarm the area viz:http://www.amcity.com/nashville/stories/1999/08/02/story1.html

Needless to say, we are excited out here

.... for things to move as fast as they did for Dell.
If you tour the Austin facility you will notice that the manufacturing equipment is very modular and the parts sit in semi-trailers. It's not surprising that they can set up a factory very quickly so long as they have a roof.

They brought many of the Nashville people to Austin to gain experience in the factory before it opened.
