The people at the top of AT&T know they do not have to switch. They have done cost analysis, and will scrape every ounce out of the old TDMA system as they can. They have a huge investement, and a huge customer base. They can offer a bad product that costs more to produce, as long as they can build off their name, their existing customers, and a great marketing team. In alot of ways its like General motors in the late 80's. They were running on fumes for years. Their reputation, and marketing were so strong they simply shoved cars down peoples throat's. If you ask me they are still doing it. ATT can continue along that same path. They are in the drivers seat until something really forces them to change. That MAY never happen.
