E.D., this is the line that I think will put the market into a frenzy over ATHM tomorrow:

<<Excite@Home and Yahoo have held talks over the last six weeks about a possible deal in which Yahoo would buy Excite@Home for some amount greater than its current market value of $17 billion.>>

They attached a number to this statement. If the rumor is squashed then all bets are off, but if it is further ignited, then we will have a big day tomorrow whether the market is up or down. $17 bill will be a bottom line price and speculation will take it from there. I have always been positive on ATHM as have you. I can't wait to see the buzz on the street tomorrow over this one.

This is just MO and anything could happen.

My "guess" that the market will not be that excited is based on the fact that it is a rumor of negotiations for a possible as of yet undetermined deal in a time when the net is severely out of favor and the market is extremely weak while waiting for more economic news. Whew! How many qualifiers can you put on it?

There is of course the possibility of a deal being announced later this morning. I think another big concern with this speculation is whether or not the value greater then $70 billion is something they are committed too, or whether it is an estimation based on a stock swap at current prices.

"Either way I'm not letting go of my ATHM, nor am I buying more (bought some today @44).

Eric- Were you sending me vibes to buy at $44 too? If so, thanks. I bought 100 at 44 9/16, 300 at 44 1/8, and 20 at 43. That 20 share trade was a little embarrassing. My money market account is nearly dry. Well there may be $100 left.:0)

Im starting to wake up (a little) but it seems to me the cable company's are still in control. They still have the same slow problem. Is Yhoo going to make these installations faster. Check this sight out I see no leak of this rumor .

I do see a lot of selling pressure. I think this is the time as some have already said to sit and wait some more. Just may be a good time to sell into the frenzy and buy back on the dip.
