8/3/99 carclub.com Teams Up With eBay to Provide Automotive Service for eBay Users
I just started listing again on eBay, and was happy with the results. I will be bidding for a client on a painting tonight. I think eBay will be picking up again now that the summer is ending. Most people I know are back from their vacations. The heat here on the east coast is keeping people inside in air conditioning (and hopefully on their computers). Many east coast states now have water restrictions, so we can go out and play in our burnt gardens... so it is time to shop on eBay!

Doug,

I agree!

Getting back to what we were discussing yesterday.....I agree with your statement that fundamentals may be changing. It appears that the sentiment has changed for the internet stocks overall.

My point is that we are on a dividing line right now (or were as is fallen slightly below). I would not be surprised to see some short covering "kick in", or for Ebay to announce some positive news causing the stock to bounce from the support line keeping the mindset of the stock intact. Without the above happening, I agree with you that the downtrend will continue.

Remember that we are in summer right now, and everything slows down. I would expect the number of auctions to grow as we approach the start of the school year.

I'm new to this thread. Don't know if its been discussed before, but is there any talk about Ebay selling Ad space? I believe they currently get about 1.5 billion or something in that order of page hits per month. Also I read on Ebay users averaged more than 126.7 minutes on the site. They could make a nice chunk of change selling Ad space.

There seems to be quite a bit of OT stuff going on here. Is that normal on this thead?
