Rarebird,
No, I don't want your take on gold stocks. I don't even want your take on AOL unless you have something substantive to add. Yes, I am long AOL and like many others on this and other threads it has been a very difficult four months. There are many challenges facing AOL management at this time but there are always challenges. The difference is that most of us believe that the internet represents the future of commerce worldwide and AOL represents the internet. When the psychology changes, and it will, the solid internet companies will do fine. If we had to do it over again and knew in advance that AOL's price would be cut in half in a little over a quarter would we have held the stock anyway? Of course not, but here we are today and the decision, as it always is, "is this a good place for my investment resources now?" My answer is obvious. I'm still long the stock and very much looking forward to a change in sentiment. I get a little uncomfortable with the bulls on this thread telling us that it's going to turn tomorrow. They don't and can't know that. Likewise you can't know that "the party is over." There are many challenges but they will be overcome. That's what good management teams do, overcome unforeseen obstacles. You keep your gold and good luck with it. I'll hang here for a while (3-5 years)and check with you in the future to see how we both fared.
Mike
PS Pollyanna is the last thing I feel like right now.

My advice to all: Don't overstay your welcome in AOL. The party is over. The selling in AOL has hardly even begun yet!

I guess I need a reading course or spruce up on my fast reading skills. But YOU need to update your profile. It looked to me that all your fav. stocks are gold ones. So if you are bearish why still list those stocks as your favorites?

BTW. I hear that short traders/day traders fall more into the category of (Financial) Death even if it does only involve "Special Situations".

I am not married to AOL but if I change my mind it will not be because some shorts prey on us.

Lucky you. Gold is up a bit today.
