Hi Heinz and all, I had been a little quiet for a few weeks while finalizing work on a pretty major project. Now it's complete, and I'm back to my contributions... The project is called IndexTrade. It's at indextrade.com . We have created a website which allows the average investor to make directional trades in the major indices, with a minimum trade size from $1 per point. We will require margin on trades reflective of the risk involved. So buying the "Daily"-settlement Dow contract for $1 per point with a stop loss of 50 points would require $75 in margin. It's settled against the Dow closing price on that day. The main idea came from me - I missed being able to back my views on quick, short-term movements in the markets after I stopped trading for banks. I just wanted a fun but real way to be involved and back my judgement without taking futures-sized risk, and that's what we've set out to create. Right now we're ironing out the last few kinks in our BETA launch, and are only offering "Player", i.e. play-money trading on the site. We'll start offering real trading in 2-3 weeks. But while we're in this phase, I would really appreciate it if a few of you would check out the site and tell me what you think. You all have immense collective trading experience, and your views mean a lot to me. So if you have a moment, test it out (and bear with us on little bugs please!), and I hope that you all enjoy it. Maybe in the future we can set up an MDA trading competition <gggg> Now that would be fun! We're having a blast making this happen! - I hope that you find it useful. Regards, Johnindextrade.com
