If the columnist was using Barton in Atlanta as his unspecified losing daytrader who then went on a killing rampage, in order to bolster his own (the columnist's) "buy and hold" philosophy, his whole premise is faulty. THe Atlanta incident had nothing to do with Barton's daytrading. According to the paper he hadn't made a trade since April; the man was a timebomb: his whole life was a deception, and he probably killed his first wife and mother-in-law. His being a trader was just a quirk of fate- he could have been a lawyer, a bank teller, or a postal worker.
Gosh, it irritates me that this writer, with his PhD credentials, so shamelessly used this tragedy to justify his premise by twisting the facts, and drawing an off the wall conclusion like he did.
BUt then, right now, everything is irritating me.

DJ, It's pretty sad that folks have to lose their life savings to become wiser.
