Maybe I answer the question with what I have seen from the trade log:

I have looked into both nasdaq and ISLD quote history (bids, asks, rather than trades). As pointed out by trion, the selling was smooth in SUNW.

So the best bid was indeed higher than 71 3/8 for at least 90 seconds (both naz and ISLD), and slowly declined until it reached 71 1/4 after 3 minutes.

TO add: I asked Datek once for a time & sales, and they came up with a time & sales where not only the trades but also the best bid/ask history was listed.

Thanks Jon.

From the time my order was activated but before it was executed there are numerous bids at 71 7/8, 3/4, 11/16, etc. . . .

Should Datek not give in can the SEC or NASD assist?
Anyone know what the formal complaint procedure is?

Thanks.

Jon, is there a NASD or SEC rule that specifies that that I am owed a fill at the bid if the bid after my order was activated is greater than the price at which I was filled?
TIA.
