I suspect Go2Net is allowing the customers to simmer for a while and get used to the water. :-)

Nicely put, Michael! And you may be right. But Go2Net may be surprised at some of the frogs that are croaking while simmering in the water. Very influential frogs.

Not having the necessary people available to respond to customer inputs was probably the largest of them all.

I would amend just this one sentence of your post. I think the biggest problem was making the beta available before it was ready. The first sight of it was such a jarring jumble--strident, clashing colors and "stuff" all over the place. My bug report submission alone was over a dozen-- bugs that it shouldn't take a herd of users to find--and I was one of the loudest complainers about the colors. I don't see how anyone who is able to dress himself in the morning could have come up with that dreadful combination, let alone a professional designer.

Some members are ascribing all sorts of ill intentions to this process, but I expect it's mostly that the developers spent themselves dealing with the first round of problems and are just ready to move on. We should have never had an opportunity to comment on the first round of problems. Had the most obvious problems been fixed before we saw the beta, SI they would still have some energy left to deal with the continued concerns about missing features and the suggestions for additional features.
