That's it - just 200,000 shares so he can buy his 5 acre home in Rancho Santa Fe Estates - get his wife a new Mercedes, etc. and the Q goes down $15. I don't know - anyone taking the launching of a test missile by China toward Taiwan as not newsworthy concerning QCOM - maybe China is checking out to see if they actually need CDMA to enhance their missile launches - maybe GSM will do just fine. jm -

How many shares has Mr Viterbi got? My guess is that 200,000 shares wouldn't be his total shareholdong and in any event relying on insider sales as a prediction isn't very reliable. I have seen numerous examples of bad comments on an insider sales recently only to find that the stock pops sometime afterwards. This is probably one time window when insiders at the Q can sell.

This drop today isn't due to that. It is in my view a combination of short sellers and people getting out because they can't stand the August effect any longer and people taking profit for the same reason and psssibly some margin calls. All these would typically do this to a good stock in August. Just think how those ginstitutions who bought a few short weeks ago must feel today. Well of course its not thier mmoney that just got a whole bunch smaller but still I bet they don't feel all that good today.

Best regards,

L
