For Rajala and others that think/fear there's no one in poor countries that could afford G* service, suggest looking at: strategy.gemconsult.com It's a 1998 paper titled "Impact of Digital Networks on...Sub Saharan Africa." Among it's interesting statistics, is the fact that in a region with per capita (1996) GDP of 309$, annual revenue per telecomm subscriber (in 1994) exceeded 1000$ (28% higher than world average.) International calls cost 3$/minute. Lot's of other interesting stuff...
