To all - Do any of you follow the Crash Index? I ran across it some months ago and look at it occasionally. It is based on the number of new lows and the previous five day advance or decline of the NYSE.

It made a correct crash signal on July 21, 1998, but made an incorrect one on March 1, 1999. It signaled crash again on August 3rd.

I would be interested in any views on this index.
