Cheap dates and cheap mates get along, honey. You and me. The box wines are truly, truly just flavored water now; and I uhm don 't know how not to sound silly about this, but I am sort of a connoisseur of flavors.

Oh, I know what "they're" thinking, but like I mean it's true. I can ACTUALLY TELL the difference between flavored water and wine!!!!!

People in biz just assume we at the Cellars can't tell anything; that we so damn drunk we can't even get the box open. Sometimes.

That if we could buy alcohol in a fire hose we'd do it.

WELL!

Their loss is Hood River Distillery's gain. I can add my own Welche's, thank you very much.

<<I realize that I have completely grossed out all wine connoisseurs.>>

In '82 I used the grapes from our arbor, bought a kit and made about 5 gallons of wine. After 6 months a friend pronounced it as full of alcohol and not bad as a second bottle of the evening, but never the first.

I saved several bottles and finally opened them last year. I had created a new variety, brown and chunky.
