BSG,

One think that's eerily like last year is the volatility index. If you take a look at the 2-year chart, it bottomed this July just like July, '98, and so far, August looks the same as a year ago!

Perhaps the parallels will continue . . .

Best regards, John.

Kit, Last night I came out of a restaurant and at least 1000 birds were flying in circles like idiots about half a block away. Everyone who was outside was watching them in wonder. That is usually an apocalyptic sign or a signal for a tornado. <g>

The most overpriced indices are the QQQ and IIX. I think the QQQ puts are much more reasonably priced, so they are the ones I would buy. BTW, I have made money twice lately on QQQ calls, but I believe that game is nearing an end.

All the things that bears have been concerned about, such as the trade deficit, credit creation, savings, and corporate cash flow are getting even worse.

Undoubtedly this means the market will double in 6 months, as Paper Chase and his fellow bulls fearlessly scale yet another Wall of Worry.

Mr.Grinder,
I don't know if it really means anything or not but the Pit Bull crash indicator hit -10 today signaling (if their methods are valid)a large market correction. I guess they have been right in the past. And yes indeed all the wheels are coming off the cart at the same time. Just hope that the popping bubble doesn't wreck too many people.

I might be a rapid bull but even I agree the internut stocks needed to correct. And what a correction it has been...they are now mostly trading at their price levels set in January '99. <g>
