The issue AFAIK isn't so much bookmarks as it is the browser history. If I want to go back to some thread I recently visited via the browser back button, I have a choice of umpteen [Silicon Investor - StockTalk] entries, not very helpful, while the old SI identifies the name of the thread. [ Right-click on the back button to see what I'm talking about]

Off Topic - I took a look at the NYT because of the discussion here and wound up reading this article nytimes.com
I have to wonder about an outfit that can print a headline line such as
Startup Offers Free iMac's for Only $718.20
with a straight face.

No, Michelle, as Catlady points out, the "go" gizmo on the browser has not been "fixed." When I go to the new site, and use "go," all I get is:

[Silicon Investor - Stock Talk]
[Silicon Investor - Stock Talk]
[Silicon Investor - Stock Talk]
[Silicon Investor - Stock Talk]
etc.

Try it out yourself. Then go to the "old" site, and try it out again. There, "Go" will list the specific pages you have visited.

Another, and unrelated, point. Do you recall how management "blushed" when the Hot List appeared to have been "censored"? We were told it was fixed. Now, for a while there, a thread called "The Screaming Green Messiahs" was No. 8 on the full Hot List. (It is not a Coffee Shop thread, incidentally.) But it never made it onto the Top Ten Hot List threads listed on New SI's log-in page. (It's now dropped to No. 12, so I can't "prove" my point.)

It is little stuff like this that tends to make the folks paranoid.

Joan

>>Joan, regrading the go issue (for lack of a better term)... I actually think that has been fixed. I bookmarked a post on the amzn thread and here's what my bookmarks say:

SI: AMAZON.COM (AMZN) (#70425/70324) <<

I think you are wrong. I just bookmarked your message
and my "GO" menu says:

[Silicon Investor - Stock Talk]

and the entry in my Netscape Bookmarks file reads:

[Silicon Investor - Stock Talk]

The OLD version of SI lists these entries in the "GO" menu and in the Bookmarks file correctly . The new version does not.

I am using Netscape. What are you using. In which version of SI did you do your bookmarking?
