OT Slider--Always enjoy your posts, lots of information and fun to see the enthusiasm. First time in Europe? August is not the prime time to go, tourist stuff crowded with locals, European vacation time. You can't "buy" Euros yet. There is no currency until much later. Prices will be paid in local currency but many menus, price tags etc. include a Euro price. Most CREDIT CARD transactions will be done in Euros, though, so think about that when you get local cash from an ATM. Wish I was going along, Paris is a truly wonderful place. Have a great time. ws
