eliminate withholding from peoples' paychecks

That's the last thing that would happen. The pols know that would be the end of the gravy train.

If Joe Sixpack had to write a check for the total amount of taxes he owed each April 15th, instead of having it automatically deducted from his check each two weeks, his opinion of tax cuts would change dramatically.

Damn straight. That action alone would do more to restore some sanity to our system than any other.

Gary,

Sherman!! That's the one that is MY Congressman - so I take it back, I actually do get to vote against the idiot.

So the picture you describe of Ron Insana shredding Sherman to ribbons is indescribably delicious. Can we get copies and get them to each of Sherman's constituents?

I didn't think it was Sherman because you called him an aging tax attorney.

Actually he's not that old to me but his bald pate does age him, I guess. And he's just an accountant - not a tax attorney.

So far as I remember, I have never voted for the winning congressman in any election in my life.

Sherman has never uttered a single word that I haven't want to throw up over. I'm so pleased he looked like the fool he is on national/world-wide tv. Can we have a Best of CNBC and include it?

Now that I know it was Sherman, my day is topped off. INTC made it earlier, I must say.
