I just went thru my PM's trying to figure out where/when I called you a f*cking *sshole. Found it. Wasn't hard because I rarely get involved in PM discussions . But, one day you went on and on and on .... And I made the mistake of sending a PM to "you-know-who".

"I don't want to be a part of this discourse. You and bearcub can talk to ... and stroke each other ... on the thread as much as you want. Really accomplishes alot, huh?

He can continue to act like a f*cking *sshole. You can continue to act like a kid in a schoolyard. What a shame. You have a lot of good thoughts to put forth."

<while you had the $14,000 of your personal money to spend as you PERSONALLY chose in investigating, i see that investigating was NOT enough for you either .... if i spent 28,000 or some other absurd number to learn about something that is simply subjectively deduced by observation over many many years, supposed to make you feel like spending more? or feeling bad because you didn't?>

Get a life!!! I didn't spend $14,000 learning about stuff. I spent over $14,000 for plane tickets, taxis, hotels, phones ... meeting with major media primarily in NYC and Washington D.C. to explain the problem and how to approach the fix. And printing primarly technical information for distribution to friends and people interested in how to fix this d*mn thing.

You haven't been on this thread long enough to know the conferences that I spoke at in 1997 and 1998 - at my own expense - because I wasn't associated with a consulting group. To know about the radio and TV stations and national print media who've contacted me. I've always just been an activist. Always tried to help.

The last conference I spoke at was in mid-1998 ... "Contingency Planning & Risk Assessment" at the Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C. After that conference I decided I'd spent enough money "trying to save the world", and instead felt my time and effort was better spent taking care of myself and family.

What's your background "bearcub"? I was one of the first females in the U.S. managing multi-million dollar high-tech advertising accounts back in late 70's ... before the term "personal P.C." existed. I founded and managed a national marketing research company with over 10,000 part-time employees and 15 in-house employees. I was a self-taught computer programmer who ultimately consulted and developed customized software for others.

<what are you and ron and others going to decide to do to us 'elderly' who get in your road y2k if we don't have food, clothing and shelter enough for you and ourselves to survive?>

I can't speak for Ron ... but, I'm already actively involved with the community. Food banks. Volunteering at a 2-county Y2K business and preparedeness store-front site. Sharing information with neighbors. Neighbor (who's a nurse and had been an exec with a CA HMO) is now stockpiling meds. Also food. And they just bought and installed a generator. Didn't see the need until I got up here. All of my immediate neighbors now have (or have ordered) generators. And have 6-12 months worth of food. We know who's not doing anything (some of those "elderly" you refer to) - in our case, we're planning on having enough to help them out. Even the 76-yr old widow whom none of us like.

But, I ... and none of the others in my neighborhood, who are worried about, or are preparing for Y2K disruptions ... feel the need to attack and berate those who don't believe as we do. We just keep plugging along. We do what we feel is right for us, and those we love. We try to help others. But ... if others aren't concerned ... we don't bother anymore. Time is too valuable.

And we laugh and enjoy life now. We take time for pleasure.

I wouldn't want you as a neighbor.

<... anymore than c.k. houston is going to learn which one of you 4 dozen plus private e*mail confidants ratted her out on her petulant name calling tirade of me.> bearcub

4 dozen plus private e*mail confidants??? LOL - Ken's the only one I wrote that to. [See cut & paste above.]

YOU ARE PATHETIC.

I don't even know 1 dozen people from this thread ... let alone 4 dozen. Like I said, I rarely engage in PM off-line discussions.

You and Ken were why I disengaged my PrivateMessage function, deleted my email address, and rarely post here anymore. Bad Karma
