RS, My DD tell me that predicted sat. phone users in China will be around 380,000 by year 2000(that includes all sat. phone users). The internal report (was presented in 10/98 by China Telecomm's rep.) applied 1% of the predicted 38 million mobil phone users by year 2000 in China as the base. The sat. phone user can afford $0.7 US dollar/per minute to qualify. The predicted minutes of usage for a mobil user is about 120 minutes per month. The predicted minutes of usage for a fixed phone user is about 210 - 300 minutes per month. The predicted minutes of usage for a car sat. phone user is also about 120 minutes per month.
