Back Holes have mass that is greater then 1.7 solar masses. So to ans. your question, they are massive, so much so nothing can escape there gravitational pull, not even light hence the term black hole. <gg> Another question. Where have astronomers most recently discovered what they think is a black hole? Hint, you can see it at night.
