Barry, you certainly have a point.

Most company CEOs do not post to internet forums, as Mr. Jacobs has. But then again most companys do not make such grandiose statements in PRs and then shrink from their responsibility to explain them when they become mistatements. Pyng is extraordinary in this respect.

Seventeen months ago they could not release the news quickly enough very development was cause for a release. Then all of a sudden when the rubber hits the road and they get to the staging area before the ascent to the peak they clam up and nothing is news worthy. I for one have no idea what would constitute progress as Pyng has not given us any milestones to gauge it by. Who knows what mass production will even look like. Will Pyng outsource the entire process including assembly, only the manufacturing, or do everything themselves. Your guess is as good as mine neither of us has a clue.

Yes this is a unique company all around. They certainly had the gift of promotion for awhile, but now when the path should be clear they are silent. I do not think that you can reasonably compare them to most companies.

Alot of the thread members have had a "sharper" tongue lately, me included. But the discussion did not start out that way. Management could have avoided most of the criticism that has been heaped on them by providing a minimum amount of information such as the progress report that they promised several months ago related to production. I have not seen any statement regarding production except for these:

April 9, 1999 (almost 4 months ago):

"Subcontractors, suppliers, tool and die makers, injection molders, who meet the required medical device criteria are being identified and will be contacted, with the goal of fast tracking the System into mass production."

January 28,1999

"Pyng Medical anticipates a strong response from S.O.C after training is completed at JFK and as we prepare for marketing and mass production. A further news release will address mass production and marketing goals for the future as well as provide intentions for media coverage and improvements to corporate training/marketing videos."

The track certainly has not been fast or the response from S.O.C. strong apparently. And we are still waiting some/any information on the steps Pyng will have to go through to get to mass production.

Your right Pyng is the exception, but I would have preferred no statements at all to statements that are made cavalierly and do not mean anything to Pyng or us either now. At least with no statements we would know we were on our own, rather than the current situation of wondering if there was any truth in any thing Pyng has said.

Your right...if PYNG Management Can't Swim they should get out of the pool!

Barry, you make a valid point that most CEO's don't post to internet forums. For those CEO's that DO post we can all wonder what exactly motivates them to contribute their "spare time" as you put it. Perhaps some view these forums as an opportunity to spread their particular company's gospel fairly inexpensively .... who knows?

However, if as a CEO you elect to post then you must be prepared to accept both the praise for good company performance as well as the criticism for the opposite.

To turn tail and hide when folks stop gushing and start asking tough questions about your company and it's products is hardly a sign of character .... and perhaps a bit of an omen to those who have bought or are thinking of buying shares in your company.

If Jacob's fails to post to this forum in future I won't be spilling any tears as many forum members probably bought PYNG shares based on his previous posts only to see their investment flop when it appeared that his company's performance failed to match his rhetoric.

In short ... << BIG DEAL >> if he sits and pouts.
