Elmer - RE: "Well put. AMD will retaliate by ANNOUNCING. Just like they announced the MIA-thlon in June. Intel ships, AMD announce and you never see a difference."

True, but I bet the 650MHz Athlon is available in systems before a >600MHz PIII is available in systems, assuming those won't come out until November.

If Intel DOES come out with a 733MHz PIII late this year, AMD will probably do the same thing and announce a 750MHz Athlon.

Just so you know, Intel announced some new high density flash product yesterday which won't be available until September, according to CNET. Everyone does this announcing thing.
