Digital Lava Wins Fourth MultiMediaCom Award; VideoVisor Web Deploys Interactive Video Content and Rich Mixed Media Across the Internet and Corporate Intranets
BUSINESS WIRE - August 31, 1999 13:07
MARINA DEL REY, Calif., Aug 31, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Digital Lava Inc. (AMEX:DGV) Tuesday announced that VideoVisor(TM) Web has been selected as the Best New Streaming and Broadcast Service at the MultiMediaCom '99 Fall Conference & Exposition.

This marks the fourth consecutive win for Digital Lava at MultiMediaCom.

Digital Lava's VideoVisor Professional software application was selected as the Best New Streaming and Broadcast Product at MultiMediaCom '99 Spring, and received the People's Choice Award at the Fall 1998 conference. In the Spring of 1998, VideoVisor 1.5 was also selected as the Best New Streaming/Broadcast Product.

"Once again, Digital Lava has come through with a unique approach and a well thought out product. They understand the needs of the marketplace," said Jim Idelson, president of DesigNet International Inc., and one of the distinguished judges for the MultiMediaCom awards.

"Digital Lava's software and services continue to win awards because we're committed to delivering what it takes to bring the streaming media market to the next level," said Joshua Sharfman, president of Digital Lava.

"Our corporate customers are reaping the full benefits of video and rich mixed media by interacting with the content, mining it for mission-critical information, and customizing it in ways that increase their productivity and ROI. Our products and services are ideal for training, high-impact corporate communications, distance learning, and sales automation."

Digital Lava's software applications, VideoVisor Professional and VideoVisor Publisher, create interactive, personalized environments where video and rich mixed media can be modified, navigated, manipulated and customized by end users.

Digital Lava enhances audio and video content by synchronizing it with related information from slides, software presentations, Web sites, Java applets, text documents and other supporting media. Digital Lava then brings the enhanced content to the Internet with VideoVisor Web.

VideoVisor Web is a browser-based viewer for deploying published rich mixed media content across the Internet and corporate Intranets. It includes an easy-to-use interface that can contain video or audio synchronized with searchable text, a hot-linked topic list and graphics, Web applications, and other Web-based information.
