"Now, whenever I log on to SI, I sneer and glare at the Beta Test the New SI icon." Boy. Me too. It's a node of focus. Like if I stare at it..... it will go away. If I open it, I may never come back. Or; like Mesmer. As I stare at it, trying not to, it begins to spin. So you're right. It is involuntary, like the dogs do to you every day. Boy, is it. But I just want you to know, as well, that I am a brave person; and I go in there. To see. To see if there's anything I can do; to become a more responsible, more adaptive person. That's how I struggled in there, to see if they really weren't charging for membership. It was a distasteful mission; for me personally; it might not have been for others; (an unpleasant mission); but crap, I did it. I think it was only distasteful to "me", because the proportions are off-setting, compared to home. But I think we should make an effort. Oh no.
