Kevin:

The first clinicals have been done a long time and were sent to the NEJM several months ago. That is what Dan's post that you referenced was about. They tested people with cold symptoms double blind and gave them Zicam. The study is not public yet because it is pending at the NEJM. It was reviewed for a Detroit TV segment prior to that by Dr. Seidman of Wayne State/Henry Ford. I have mentioned this several times, including that his videotape from Detroit Channel 7 is still on the net. Dan's post was and is still entirely true.

The second clinicals are presently underway in several test sites and will be sent to a medical journal (not necessarily the NEJM -that would indeed be premature) when they are finished, collated and written up. They involve exposing people to a known strain of rhinovirus then double blinded treatment with placebo or Zicam. There is also an allergy segment to the studies. All this material is in the recent press releases. All one has to do is read it carefully. Nothing strange, extraordinary or fishy.

Regards,

Howard
