Thanks for your post.

I've been so busy w/ equity options that I never even knew there were options on QQQ, and I'm sure it's been staring me in the face several times.

I wonder why AMEX doesn't do the same for SPY and DIA? (ok, not DIA :-)
I just started to looking into using SPY as a cover for SPX option writing (haven't gotten very far). When SPY came out I recall reading a blurb where AMEX said one could cover SPX w/ SPX option (at the appropriate ratio of course). But that has since disappeared. Just to check, I called one of my brokers yesterday and asked if they do that (SPX / SPY cover) and they said 'no'.

I'll have to check into QQQ options some... do you have a feel as to how QQQ options compare to NDX as far as liquidity, spreads, etc.? (One of the reasons I've stayed away from SPX and wanting more to play OEX spreads).

Thanks!
