There's no doubt that the Y2K issue is worthy of and will generate very heated discussion on both sides, which is what makes such a discussion useful and interesting to so many people, but far too much of this thread has been used for off-topic personal attacks lately.

Everyone, please leave the personal stuff aside and get back to the informative on-topic discussions that used to be a hallmark of this thread.
