I don't disagree, but that wasn't my point. My point was to look at the recent upgrades and the prices at which they happened vs. the last time these same institutions downgraded and the prices then.

This is what I show for the 3 most recent upgrades:

Cowen UPGRADES on July 27, 1999 with INTC at 68
but
Cowen DOWNGRADED on June 1, 1998 with INTC at 34

Prudential UPGRADES on July 6, 1999 with INTC at 65
but
Prudential DOWNGRADED on November 20, 1998 with INTC at 56

SSB UPGRADES on July 14, 1999 with INTC at 68
but
SSB DOWNGRADED on July 15, 1998 with INTC at 42

This is what I call Monday morning quarterbacking at its finest.
