GrillSgt, welcome to SI and to the AOL board. I am happy to know that you are long AOL. I am long AOL also. Not that I have not sold or bought AOL along the way. However, I have never flinched from my belief that AOL is clearly ahead of the rest. They have a sound technology, time tested field proven to support about 19 million users. They also have a management with a very good foresight. And just sit back and think for yourself about this free Internet access. NETZERO, ALTAVISTA, FREESERVE. Do you think they really have the muscle to battle it out. We are talking AOL on TV, AOL in palmtops, AOL via satellite, AOL via DSL and very soon AOL on broadband (ATT will keep ATHM broadband access and divest Excite at which point they will talk to AOL). By doing that ATT will have the cake and eat it too. They get money by selling Excite and they get AOL's business. Anyway, we don't invest for our ego's here. We invest with reason. We have people on this thread that have earned our confidence by displaying their skills at TA, or their ability to surf the net and dig up news articles that are of interest to AOL investors etc. etc. My friend, welcome once again and we are here to help you to join our club hoping that you will soon adhere to our high standards of discussion based on reason.
