Thanks Vman. The $1,499 is for the Mot phone vs. $1,750 for the Kyocera. The Mot phone appears to be "dual mode" except you have to buy $595 cassette for No. America CDMA or $495 for Europe's GSM. Still pricy in my book.

It looks to me that the Iridium phone price of 1500$ is for a sat-mode only phone...if you want it cellular compatible you have to pay another 400-500$ for SIM cards; one each for GSM, AMPs, and whatever else...That seems consistent with LBs survey.

Is that right?
