I just heard on CNBC that they will be interviewing MindSpring on PowerLunch today. Not sure of who, but I don't want to miss it to see what, if anything they have to say about Earthlink.

BTW - PowerLunch is coming from Atlanta today.

Good article Glenn.
This is one time the reporter has it exactly correct.
The article mentions the "flawed modem equipment" of the Webzter/Microworkz PC's. That was the EXACT problem I encountered when helping someone solve a problem with the Webzter PC.
There was absolutely NO PROBLEM signing the customer up with
Earthlink and the PC is working today using the free Earthlink account. Too bad that the Earthlink name may have looked a little bad to the people who do not understand the PC hardware/software industry.
If the modem in your PC has a problem, your internet service will be poor until you replace the modem. Microworkz probably received a special deal on the modems and packaged them with a Cyrix chip that was not compatible. The buyers of the PC's and Earthlink suffered.

Glenn - killer article.

I was heartened by "80% of internet users using isp's 'til 2002."
