I feel bad that so many people died in this accident. Indian railways definitely need upgrade in equipment in providing safety. In this instance, I understand that the authorities had difficulty bringing in heavy equipment to rescue people from the wreckage. I hope that the Indian Govt. provides a compensation to the injured and the near and dear.
I travelled by rail in India. Yes, it is cheap. The railways provide a very needed service for the masses. I travelled mostlfy by third class. Last time I bumped up to a higher class with a sleeping berth for overnight travel . Cockroaches were my ticketless companions at that time.
