You will find no disagreement with this posting either. I think our thoughts are complementary on this subject.

However, I do think that we have to be careful when dealing with more recent history. Steven's example of Philippine history and what so many Americans were taught is an example of the complexity to which I refer.

There was an ancient city cursed by God which became uninhabited and lost. It was recently found buried under sand right where it was supposed to be according to biblical text. Wish I could remember the name of the city. Do you?
