Off-topic - Baseball

Re: Ted, needless to say (for people who know me some) was my childhood idol.

George Brett was mine - glad to see him inducted into the Hall of Fame last week.

I'm taking my family to THE GAME tomorrow night (Cards vs. Padres) here in St. Louis. Odds are good that we'll see McGwire hit HR #500 and Gwynn get hit #3000 in the same game. Should be quite a night to remember.

Tony, OTOTOT

One of my most vivid baseball memories is of Ted smacking a shot that started like a line drive that was only about 2-3' over WSOX 2b Nellie Fox's head when it passed him and then took off and rose to clear the upper deck in right field of old Comisky Park. I was about 9 or 10. I was standing in the aisle in line with the right field foul line and had a terrific view of it. It was an unbelievable shot! And in those days, the field was much closer to the fans so you felt right in the game.

Those days are gone forever.
