I suspect you might be right. But Cube's Hitachi PR calls out a different Hitachi model than Hitachi's recent press release. On thing I've learned is the Japanese OEM's are not as loyal to their suppliers as they used to be. So it could change from model to model. However, the one thing Cube has, that ALL the other decoder suppliers do not have, is the Codec. That Codec is leverage. Mr. Cube: Well yes you are right, our decoder is $1 more than that other one. But if you buy it, it will help you get allocation and a decent price on our nifty MPEG2 codec. If you buy both I'll even match thier price. Could happen.
