Great post, Dan. I particularly liked Dick Grannis's comments. Motorola is playing with fire, taunting the Gorilla who has permitted them to become part of their value chain. Now that Q has made it clear they won't be intimidated because of the Monkey's size, I'm looking forward to capitulation by Motorola in the very near term.

analyst, who requested anonymity. Others took a similar view.<

Noooo!, I find that hard to believe! : )

>Dick Grannis, Qualcomm's treasurer, said Qualcomm has vanquished the
Schaumburg, Ill.-based giant before. He noted that Motorola lost in the battle against OmniTracs, Qualcomm's satellite tracking system used in the trucking industry.<

Not to mention other losses. Well said.

As others here have said, posturing on mo's part. They are still the bully.

They want to be a part of a faster growing (CDMA) sector. By all means, let them. Q just can't allow them to cheat again.

If I owned any motorola stock, I think I'd be coming over to the Q. Not that I have a bias or an agenda. Just a thought. What do you all think?

Who is going to buy MOT ASICS in the first place. Do you think that ERICY or NOK is going to purchase ASICS from the mastermind of analog? I doubt that the Korean or Japanaese handset makers are going to be interested in first generation products with low data speeds from MOT either. QCOM is getting ready to ship wireless chips with data speeds exceeding 64Kbps chips. Did MOT recently recruit Ake Perrson and the rest of the ERICY propoganda team?? I guess they didn't like QCOM's lawsuit the other day.
