I have no idea which brokers are better for short now..but I will try Ameritrade Etrade Dreyfus...or National Discount... One stock I would like to short dearly is BRCM at 130+ but Datek does not allow margin...so if you want to short 100 at 130 you need 13k.

CUST is available for shorting all day at Waterhouse. I don't remember ever having my short orders rejected on CUST at TWE. That may be the one good thing about Waterhouse that keeps me as a customer, albeit a grudgingly happy one.
