Pacific Exchange to Trade Options on Alliance Semiconductor Corporation And the
Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pacific Exchange (PCX) has
announced that, on Monday, August 9, 1999, it will begin trading options on
Alliance Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: ALSC; PCX: ASU).
The PCX will also begin trading options on The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
(NYSE: GS) on Wednesday, August 11, 1999.
Alliance Semiconductor Corporation options will trade on the January
expiration cycle. It will open on August 9 with strike prices of 7 1/2, 10,
and 12 1/2, and will be available for the months of September, October,
January, and April. Position and exercise limits have been set at 31,500
contracts. ASU options have been allocated to lead market maker Scott Elisha
of Wolverine Trading, L.P., who assures that the disseminated market quote is
firm for
50 contracts.
The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. options will trade on the January expiration
cycle. It will open on August 11 with strike prices of 55, 60, and 65, and
will be available for the months of September, October, January, and April.
Position and exercise limits have been set at 75,000 contracts. The
underlying stock is available at the Pacific Exchange. GS options have been
allocated to lead market makers Bruce Ulriksen and David Eglit of Spear, Leeds
& Kellogg, who assure that the disseminated market quote is firm for
25 contracts.
