Markets are sinking as time runs out for the day (e.g., NAZ/S&P500):

Marc: Re: "I wonder if in 6 months when we look back to the present time we will say we were in the early stage of a bear market with the final top of the great bull market of the 90's having been reached on July 16th 1999 which Bob identified as possible benchmark highs."

Hey, maybe its time to change focus to look for benchmark lows <g>. None in view yet. I have got three scenarios in mind all dependent upon the numbers in the next few days. If the numbers are much worse than expected, then we continue to look for benchmark lows. If they are mixed, then we get a slow meandering recovery going into the August 24th meeting as the market comes to grip with the probability of a hike. If the numbers are favorable, then we rally back. Place your bets <g>.

You make it sound like Bob has already issued a sell signal. For the sake of the thread newcomers, Bob is still recommending a fully invested equity position. He did not say that the bull market is over or that a bear market has started.

Best wishes,

You may be drafted. You're starting to sound suspiciously bearish...

Welcome to the Dark Side.
