Different people have different standards of what constitutes breaking support. I have lost money several times when I have taken support (or for that matter, resistance) lines too literally. The really big, liquid stocks like T and GE seem to respect the actual lines more consistently than the more volatile techs, which makes sense.

When everyone is watching a certain number, I guess it starts to become dangerous as a trading reference, at least in the short term.

Short answer: I don't think we violated support, in fact I thought the stock action was bullish. See Puff Daddy for an alternate opinion. -g-

EDIT: JNPR limit buy filled at 150. Was stopped out of half CMTN at 99. Will buy back if it holds the 50 ema tomorrow (around 88).
