i think the opening up of a slot in the djia is a very interesting matter. it has been said that the djia is under represented by technology. yes there is ibm and hwp but those are hardware companies, primarily. ibm is moving toward the services area more and more but i think msft would be a nice addition to the djia.

i don't recall being listed on the nyse as being a prerequisite to being part of the djia thought a nasdaq listed company has never been part of the djia.

from an indexing standpoint, i don't think this would have a significant effect on msft share price though i wouldn't mind if it did. any s&p 500 fund surely has msft in it already and the only funds that would pick up msft or for that matter the newest djia company if not msft, would be djia index funds of which there are not very many.

let's here it for msft, the first nasdaq stock to hit the djia, maybe.

remember folks, it's never too late to buy msft!!
