Jim Ryan was elected to fill Edgar's large shoes. First thing Ryan did was to announce the Illinois First program. Prices on things like car plates and park fees were doubled, and it didn't sound too bad because the money was to go for infrastructure, ie road repair and school repair. Now the fucking rub. The money is going for crap like the children's coal zoo, the Irish/American band and a deal to make homos feel better about themselves. The government makes promises to get your money but they are short lived.
