They can almost always do funny things. The exception as I see it is whenever solid buying pressure is applied. This maintained interest comes from a realization of a large, continuous growth potential by a large number of investors, of which some percentage will jump on board. Synergy gets started and the MM's have all they can do to fill orders. The interesting thing is when they drop or raise the bid and people refuse to sell, but the buying continues. At this point the sliding games are over, whether MM's like it or not. It takes sellers and volume to fuel dropping the price on an ongoing basis when a good company is the subject. If people stop selling, what is their option? Short? At the beginning of a buying cycle? Heck no. The key is always strong, sustained buying, which comes from strong interest in an investment, which is generally based on the underlying company. The exception here are the casino type pump and dumps that have gotten somewhat popular, in which the company makes little difference.

IMO, because of the manipulations it is often better to buy or hold when the price is already low than to sell (remember - buy low, sell high). This is particularily true if the basic company is sound. I am still waiting for over $20 to release the first thousand shares on a perhaps permanent basis. This down market is tough, but temporary also. I have about 8x my desired core position, somewhat at a loss now, but I can wait.

Maintaining price above $4 IMO will not be an issue after a few steps, like final form 10, first filing, NASDAQ, and PR. I do not expect all these steps will be needed. -Jim
