You don't understand what competition does to you until you own your own business. Then you discover that as much as you hate competition it makes your business better and you wealthier. When you work within a company you are immersed in cooperation because companies achieve economies of scale through individual cooperation. Cooperation doesn't accomplish anything but privilege and indolence when you are talking about individual companies. ATHM is able to hide behind the skirts of MSOs and is cooperating. They don't need to do anything. They got the protection. They're protected from their own best interest and therefore protected from making progress. That's a formula for failure. That's what happened to Ma Bell when she hid behind government. It took 30 years but ended in a failed company which was a nightmare to hold for decades.
